PM Modi Meets Japan Business Leaders to Strengthen Bilateral Economic Relations

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a high-level delegation from the Japan Association of Corporate Executives (Keizai Doyukai), led by Chairperson Takeshi Niinami, to discuss ways to strengthen economic relations between India and Japan.

The meeting, held in New Delhi, focused on exploring opportunities to enhance bilateral trade, investment, and collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture, marine products, space, defense, technology, infrastructure, clean and nuclear energy, insurance, civil aviation, and the MSME sector.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, reaffirming India’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. He expressed confidence that the Japan Plus initiative, introduced in India, will streamline and expedite Japanese investments into the country. Modi assured that the Indian government is dedicated to creating a transparent and predictable investment climate, stressing that there should be no hesitation from investors.

Highlighting India’s achievements in aviation and green energy, the Prime Minister noted the country’s ongoing efforts to develop robust infrastructure, which he believes will play a key role in driving economic growth. He also pointed out that India’s vast diversity is set to enhance the nation’s artificial intelligence landscape.

The Japanese delegation, which included prominent business leaders, shared their future plans for expanding operations in India. Both sides expressed optimism about the prospects for greater cooperation and investment in the coming years.
