New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu has officially invited Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi to form a new government at the Centre. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow evening at 7:15 PM at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Yesterday, Narendra Modi met with President Murmu to stake his claim for forming the new government.

Prior to this, an NDA delegation led by BJP President JP Nadda had met with the President, presenting a letter that declared Modi as the elected leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party. Letters of support from various NDA constituent parties were also submitted.

Outside Rashtrapati Bhavan, Modi expressed his confidence in the formation of a strong, stable, and growth-oriented government. Modi emphasized that the NDA government is dedicated to fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people, and highlighted that the 18th Lok Sabha represents new and youthful energy.

He assured that his administration would focus on rapid national development and benefit India’s economy and youth.

In a social media post, Rashtrapati Bhavan confirmed that President Murmu exercised her powers under Article 75 (1) of the Constitution to appoint Modi as Prime Minister. She has requested Modi to advise her on the names of other individuals to be appointed to the Union Council of Ministers and to finalize the date and time for the swearing-in ceremony.
