Bokaro: Sahityalok, the renowned literary institution, hosted its monthly Rachnagoshti on Sunday evening at the residence of poet and singer Arun Pathak in Sector 6D. The event, chaired by senior writer Randhir Chandra Goswami and conducted by Sahityalok convenor Aman Kumar Jha, featured an impressive display of creativity as writers shared compositions on folklife, love, tradition, and human sensibilities.
The session began with a rendition of Mahakavi Vidyapati’s Bhagwati Vandana by Jayanti Pathak, followed by a Maithili story, Guru Dakshina by Aman Kumar Jha, exploring marriage traditions. Rajendra Kumar’s poignant Maithili short story Bisri Jait Chhee touched on the theme of forgetfulness in life. Shailaja Jha and Neelam Jha presented Hindi and Maithili poems, while Dr. Ranjit Kumar Jha and others recited works reflecting life’s changing realities and emotions.
Senior litterateur Vijay Shankar Mallik’s poem Bitale chaubis elai paachis marked the New Year, and Buddhinath Jha’s poem on Kumbh was well received. The evening ended with a recitation of Chalte hi rahenge hum by Goswami, who praised Sahityalok’s contribution to Bokaro’s literary landscape.
The event highlighted the creative talents of local writers, including Tula Nand Mishra, Girija Nand Jha, Uday Kumar Jha, and others, along with late poets Daya Kant Jha and Vinay Kumar Mishra, who played key roles in establishing Sahityalok. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Arun Pathak.
