SAIL Supplies 45,000 Tonnes of Steel for Mahakumbh

New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), India’s largest steel-making public sector company and a Maharatna, has provided approximately 45,000 tonnes of steel for the upcoming Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.

The steel supplied includes chequered plates, hot strip mill plates, mild steel plates, angles, and joists.

SAIL’s contribution to the Mahakumbh Mela is vital for the construction of essential temporary structures required for the successful conduct of the event. These structures include pontoon bridges, passageways, temporary steel bridges, substations, and flyovers. The company has a long-standing history of supporting this significant religious gathering, having also supplied steel for the Mahakumbh Mela in 2013.

The major customers benefiting from this supply include the Public Works Department (PWD), Uttar Pradesh State Bridges Corporation, Electricity Board, and their respective suppliers. The steel provided by SAIL will support the smooth execution of infrastructure projects critical to the event’s operations.

SAIL takes pride in contributing to such a large-scale event, which not only serves as a significant cultural gathering but also highlights India’s rich heritage. The company remains dedicated to supporting national infrastructure projects that enhance the country’s development and foster cultural and social well-being.
