Bokaro: Seven talented archers from the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy have been chosen to represent the Bokaro District at the upcoming NTPC Senior National Archery Championship State Trials. The trials will be held in Ranchi on December 1-2, 2024.
The selection followed a competitive Senior District Trial organized at the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy. A total of eight archers were selected, with seven hailing from the Vedanta academy, which has been instrumental in training local talent. The chosen athletes include four boys—Rahul Mahato, Kuldeep Mahato, Chitranjan Tudu, and Amit Singh (from Anjela Archery Centre)—along with four girls—Kritika Kumari, Priya Kumari, Ganga Kumari, and Bani Munda.
More than 25 archers from various academies, including SAIL-Bokaro Archery Academy, Chandankiyari Day Boarding Centre, and Anjela Archery Academy, participated in the trials. The event highlighted the growing pool of talent in the district, with archers demonstrating exceptional skill and precision.
Founded in 2020 by ESL Steel Limited, the Vedanta ESL Archery Academy has been a key player in fostering sports talent in the region. Since its establishment, the academy has earned 185 medals across national, state, and district-level competitions.
Kunal Daripa, Head of CSR at ESL Steel Limited, expressed the company’s ongoing support for the academy’s growth. He announced plans to enhance the academy’s facilities, resources, and national-level participation, aimed at nurturing even more talent from the Bokaro district.
