Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Himanta Biswa Sarma gets charge for Jharkhand assembly election

New Delhi: With assembly elections due in several states within a year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed state election in-charges and co-in-charges for four states, including Jharkhand, in a strategic move to strengthen its electoral preparations.

For the upcoming Jharkhand assembly polls, the BJP has designated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan as the state election in-charge, while his Assam counterpart, Himanta Biswa Sarma, will serve as the co-in-charge.

The appointments, which take immediate effect, see Union ministers being entrusted with key responsibilities for coordinating the party’s election efforts in various states.

In Maharashtra, Union ministers Bhupender Yadav and Ashwini Vaishnaw have been appointed as the state election in-charge and co-in-charge, respectively, for the assembly polls.

For the Haryana assembly elections, the party has named Dharmendra Pradhan as the state election in-charge, with Biplab Kumar Deb as the co-in-charge.

Meanwhile, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has been given the charge for overseeing the BJP’s preparations for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

These appointments come as the BJP gears up for a crucial round of state elections, aiming to consolidate its political foothold across the country.
