Dhanbad: A three-day induction program for 30 newly appointed Junior Assistants (clerks) started today at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, providing participants with an overview of the institute’s operations and functions.
The program aims to familiarize the new joiners with various operational aspects, including conduct rules, office procedures, procurement processes, contract management, and career progression schemes.
On an inaugural day, the Junior Assistants learned about the institute’s conduct rules, office procedures, attendance and station leave policies, procurement of goods and services, stock entry, physical verification of assets, contract management, promotion under the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme, pay fixation, annual increments, Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR), and Annual Immovable Property Returns (AIPR).
Organized by the institute administration, the induction program covers establishment, administration, accounts, procurement, disciplinary matters, academics, and student welfare.
At the inaugural function held at the Management Hall, Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM), emphasized the importance of the induction program. “This program will help you understand the rules and regulations of different departments and connect with your colleagues undergoing training,” he said, encouraging trainees to take full advantage of the program to become efficient and competent members of the workforce.
Professor Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director of IIT (ISM), also addressed the gathering, informing the Junior Assistants about the various facilities available to employees at the institute. He mentioned that well-equipped housing facilities would soon be available to all employees.
Prabodh Pandey, Registrar of IIT (ISM) and coordinator of the program, highlighted the significance of the training. He stated that the induction program would enhance the employees’ efficiency and efficacy and encouraged participants to ask questions and seek clarifications from their seniors whenever in doubt.
Rajan Chaudhary, Deputy Establishment, noted that the newly appointed Junior Assistants would receive comprehensive training over the three days, covering all aspects, including vigilance matters, maintenance of service books, leave rules, hostel allotment rules, and labor welfare.
The induction program marks a significant step in preparing the new employees to contribute effectively to the institute’s operations.
