JSN: A tragic accident at Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Monday morning resulted in two workers sustaining severe injuries.
According to the eyewitnesses, TP Mandal, a contract worker from M/s RT Corporation, was performing pipeline marking tasks at the Old Ammonium Sulphate Plant within the Coke Oven and Coke Chemicals Department of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL).
“Mandal suddenly lost control and fell from a height of approximately 7 meters at 10:20 am. Amrendra Hembrom, another worker who was overseeing the operations alongside Mandal, also lost his footing and fell,” one eyewitness recounted.
Swiftly responding to the situation, fellow workers escorted the injured individuals to the primary Plant Medical Unit. From there, they were referred to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).
TP Mandal was admitted to BGH’s Critical Care Unit (CCU), where he is reportedly in a stable condition. Amarendra, meanwhile, has been admitted to Ward 2B for further treatment.
The hospital authority has confirmed that “all essential medical resources are being utilized to provide the best possible care to both workers.”
