Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy Lays Foundation Stone for 200-Bed Super Specialty Hospital in Ranchi

Ranchi: Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, today laid the foundation stone for a 200-bed Super Specialty Hospital at Kanke, near Rinpas, Ranchi. The hospital, which will include advanced departments like Cardiology, Pulmonology, and Neurology, aims to provide quality healthcare to the people of Jharkhand and nearby regions.

The Rs 300 crore project, covering construction, equipment, and furnishings, is set to begin in June 2025 and will be completed in two years. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidya Pratishthan (BAVP), a non-profit organization, will manage the hospital. The land, spanning 5.5 acres, has been provided by the Government of Jharkhand, with financial support from CCL for six years.

The minister emphasized that the hospital would be a significant milestone in enhancing healthcare in Jharkhand and the nation. He also expressed hopes for the hospital’s inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon its completion.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Sanjay Seth, MP from Ranchi, Rajya Sabha MPs Aditya Prasad and Mahua Maji, Kanke MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha, and other senior officials from Coal India and CCL.

After the ceremony, Minister Reddy visited the Indian Institute of Coal Mines (IICM) and addressed young management trainees and women participants in the “Jyoti Programme.” He highlighted the importance of empowering women and urged the youth to innovate and see their work as a service to the nation. He also planted a tree to promote environmental awareness.

Other speakers, including Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary of the Ministry of Coal, and P.M. Prasad, Chairman of Coal India, reinforced the need for innovation and the empowerment of women in the coal sector. The event underscored the growing participation of women in the industry and inspired the young professionals to excel in their fields.
