Ranchi: A meeting of the Jharkhand Rajya Urdu Shikshak Sangh’s East Singhbhum District Committee was held at the National Urdu Girls Middle School in Haldipokhar. Amin Ahmed, Central General Secretary of the Sangh, addressed the gathering as the chief guest, praising the appointment of Ramdas Soren as the Minister of School Education and Literacy in the Hemant Soren government.
Ahmed emphasized that Soren’s experience in the Jharkhand movement would bring positive changes to the education sector.
The meeting also welcomed Minister Soren’s swift action on key issues, including his decision to reopen schools closed under the previous government, which is expected to benefit students, particularly in rural areas. Additionally, the initiative to ensure education in regional languages or mother tongues was hailed as a significant step towards fulfilling the Right to Education (RTE) Act of 2009.
The Jharkhand Rajya Urdu Shikshak Sangh expressed hopes that Minister Soren would soon address pending issues affecting education and teachers. The association also urged the state government to reopen merged or closed Urdu schools, particularly in East Singhbhum, where the merger of Urdu schools with general schools in 2016 negatively impacted the education of girls and disrupted student learning.
The meeting was attended by various notable figures, including Vice President Sabir Ahmed, East Singhbhum District President Md. Shahabuddin Ansari, social worker Zikrul Hoda, and other prominent members of the Sangh.
