Bokaro: Vedanta ESL Limited, a leading steel producer and a unit of the Vedanta Group, marked Republic Day with a vibrant celebration at its Siyaljori plant. The event underscored the company’s continued dedication to the social, economic, and environmental well-being of Bokaro, Jharkhand, and India at large.
The Republic Day celebrations were attended by over 80 participants, including employees and members from local communities. The festivities began with the unfurling of the tricolor by Ashish Gupta, CEO of Vedanta ESL, followed by a Parade where security personnel showcased their skills.
In recognition of outstanding contributions, 10 employees were honored for their exceptional efforts in areas such as housekeeping, safety, and in-house construction projects. Gupta’s speech emphasized the symbiotic relationship between community growth and business success, reinforcing Vedanta ESL’s commitment to creating employment opportunities for local residents.
Gupta also highlighted the company’s impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. To date, Vedanta ESL has made 450 acres of land cultivable, provided clean drinking water to 1,400 homes, supported over 12,000 students in education, and delivered healthcare to nearly 170,000 villagers. Additionally, 2,071 individuals have benefited from livelihood programs such as Jivika, WADI, and Skill School.
Gupta extended his gratitude to over 500 security personnel for their tireless dedication, especially their participation in the parade rehearsals, and reaffirmed Vedanta ESL’s ongoing focus on ethical practices and community development. The company has earned numerous awards for its contributions to societal welfare and remains committed to the long-term betterment of the regions in which it operates.
