Bokaro: The Excel-30 Centre, part of Vedanta ESL’s CSR Education Project Prerna, has continued to make a significant impact on underprivileged youth in rural Jharkhand. Since its establishment in June 2021 in Bijulia (Chas), the centre has empowered students with focused mentoring to excel in government competitive exams.
In a remarkable achievement for 2024, three students from the Excel-30 Centre successfully cleared the SSC GD (Staff Selection Commission General Duty) exam. These achievers will begin their government service on 20 January this year.
Somanath Mahata, who hails from Chas, has secured a position in the Border Security Force (BSF), while Shubham Tiwari and Punam Kumari have both been selected for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
Additionally, six other students have passed the written test, further highlighting the excellence of the Excel-30 Centre.
These achievements show Vedanta ESL’s commitment to empowering youth and providing opportunities for a brighter future.
Since its inception, the Excel-30 Centre has supported 70 students, with 65 appearing for government exams. Of these, 22 cleared the written tests, and 8 students, including 7 in SSC GD and 1 in the Agniveer Navy, secured government jobs. Nine others qualified for Polytechnic courses.
Kunal Daripa, Head CSR at ESL Steel Limited, expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments, emphasizing the company’s commitment to uplifting rural communities through education and skill development.
The success is also credited to the dedicated mentors at the centre, including Ravi Kumar (Mathematics), Mukesh Kumar (General Knowledge and Reasoning), and Ajay Kumar Choudhary (English), whose hard work has been integral to the students’ achievements.
