Vedanta ESL Steel Hosts Successful Mega Health Camps for Senior Citizens in Bokaro and Alkusha

Bokaro: Vedanta ESL Steel Limited, in line with its commitment to community welfare, recently organized two successful Mega Health Camps in Bokaro district under its Project MACE healthcare initiative.

The camps, focused on addressing the healthcare needs of senior citizens, were held in Bokaro’s Sector 6 and Alkusha Village.

The health camp in Sector 6, partnered with Medicant Hospital, featured expert screenings for elderly citizens, including checks on blood pressure, thyroid, and blood sugar.

A team of doctors from various specialties such as Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, and Endocrinology provided consultations. The event, attended by dignitaries including Mr. Digvijay Kumar Singh, IG of CISF, was held at the Vedanta Cares Field Hospital and organized by the Samarth Community Forum.

A similar camp at Alkusha Village, aimed at senior citizens from rural Bokaro, saw collaboration with Akash Hospital, Sanjeev Netralaya, and Dr. Puja’s Dental Clinic. Medical teams provided general screenings, dental care, and eye exams, with a large turnout of elderly residents seeking consultations.

Vedanta ESL Steel Limited’s Project MACE is focused on promoting healthy aging, with initiatives like physical and online activities, regular doctor visits, and nutritional support. Over the past three and a half years, Project MACE has impacted over 500,000 citizens of Bokaro.

Kunal Daripa, Head of CSR at Vedanta ESL Steel, emphasized the importance of early medical screenings for the elderly, noting, “Prevention is better than cure, and we are committed to making a meaningful impact on our community’s health.”
