Yogi’s Attack on SP: Every District Had a Big Mafia Linked to SP

by Ajay Kumar

Locknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing a public meeting in the Milkipur assembly constituency of Ayodhya, launched a strong attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), stating that every district had a big mafia and goon associated with the SP. He accused the mafia of running a parallel government, creating chaos and lawlessness, while “Babu” (Akhilesh Yadav) was too busy sleeping until noon. The public suffered during this time.

Yogi claimed that under the guise of Muslim appeasement, the SP created disorder during festivals. He alleged that they imposed bans during Janmashtami celebrations, preventing bhajans and restricting the playing of the Hare Rama, Hare Krishna tune because it was disliked by certain individuals. He accused the SP of banning the Kanwar Yatra and other significant festivals like Holi, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Shivratri, and Ram Navami.

Recalling the riots during Durga Puja, he mentioned the theft of a deity’s idol from the Devkali temple and how he had protested against it as a Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur. He emphasized that before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was seen as a barrier to India’s development, marked by extreme lawlessness, discrimination in development schemes, and disrespect towards prominent figures.

Yogi noted that the BJP’s double-engine government had accelerated development over the past seven and a half years, showcasing improvements in four-lane and two-lane roads, as well as better connectivity and facilities for electricity and water in villages.

He stated that SP members were involved in cow smuggling, deforestation, and land encroachments, but now, under his government, land encroachments had been removed. He mentioned the establishment of the Anti-Land Mafia Task Force after 2017, which freed 64,000 hectares of land from SP’s land mafia and goons. In Bhadasra, land was also cleared of encroachment.

Yogi asserted that when there were issues in removing encroachments, the leaders claimed there had been land scams in Ayodhya. He clarified that there was no land scam; instead, ₹1,700 crore in compensation had been distributed to farmers. He concluded that there was not a single case where a victim had not received compensation. It is noteworthy that by-elections are taking place in the Milkipur assembly seat, which became vacant after the sitting MLA, Awadhesh Prasad, was elected as a Member of Parliament.
